Penny Barringer's flowing organic images are inspired by natural forms - working primarily in lithography, monotype print-
making and cloisonné enamel jewelry.

Penelope Barringer has created and shown lithographs and monotype prints in the Washington area for more than 30 years. In 1983 she founded, with Allen Kaneshiro, Discover Graphics Atelier, Inc., a printmaking workshop in the Torpedo Factory that provides classes and working space for area printmakers. She serves as Director of the non-profit organization and over the past 20 years she has taught lithography, etching, and monotype classes for the Art League, Inc. as well as offering specialized intensive workshops in etching, monotype, and collagraph techniques. She previous worked at the National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Institution, as Assistant Printmaker and at Union Printmakers, Inc. as Assistant Director.
